DER BESONDERE ABEND
At all times, we have gathered around warm fire places. Gazed into the swirling dance of flames, listened to the crackling sparks in the wind, inhaled the air of burning wood.
Energy transfer. A sensual experience, across time and place. A star team of musicians from the Balkans, Palestine and Norway has carried wood to the fire place.
The album “Bonfire” simmers with music from multiple geographical origins as well as jazz and classical impulses. Groovy and virtuoso – longing and lyrical.
The sound is upfront and acoustic – close to the physical energy of the music. Oriental strings, accordion pulls, and pulsating rhythms. Shoulder by shoulder around the fire place, forgotten memories and new experiences arise .
„Bonfire“ is the Jovan Pavlovic Trio’s second album. This time, the Palestinian Ahmad Al Khatib also joins the team. All four musicians are well known on the international world music scene, and collaborate across
continents. When a small virus causes the world to close its borders, „Bonfire“ offers music that open them.
